Easter Sunday saw the first race of the Warwickshire road race league hosted by Massey Ferguson runners club.
This year the race has been given a new lease of life, firstly an increase in distance from 5miles to 10k, secondly a move to a new venue and last but not least a slight change of name from the Easter 5 to the Tractor 10k
The new venue at Stoneleigh park was very fitting with it being the National agricultural and exhibition centre and the clubs history with tractors. A Massey Ferguson tractor was drafted in which sat proudly in the finish area as well as new medals to also celebrate the clubs 40 year history.
The race itself was advertised as being flat and fast and that it certainly was with many people clocking pbs on the day, myself included who unexpectedly knocked 35 seconds off my pb to take it down to 37:34 which also resulted in me taking the trophy for first Massey Ferguson finisher despite one of my team mates putting up a good fight and passing me with less than half a mile to go making me work all the way to the finish line.
